Kromann Reumert Aarhus
Kromann Reumert appointed schmidt hammer lassen design to carry out the thorough renovation and new refurbishing of their headquarters on the Rådhuspladsen in Aarhus. The building is designed by Salling Mortensen around 1914 and creates an impressing yet simple composition around the city square together with the city hall designed by Arne Jacobsen, which is located at the other side of the square. As any modern company in growth, the physical frames became too narrow and obsolescent for the company. The solution to these problems was an enlargement of the available space; more m2 were added. The offices were renovated and turned into modern, representative and functional surroundings for Kromann Reumers and their clients. Already as you enter the building, a high standard of materials and a keen eye for the detailing is clearly visible. To access the top floor of the building the beautifully curved staircase in natural stone or the lift is at the visitors disposal. Functions such as reception, lounge, meeting- and conference-facilities and canteen are now placed at the top floor and hereby create the best frame for the work of Kromann Reumert and their clients. Through a positive and fruitful collaboration between Kromann Reumert and schmidt hammer lassen we turned their headquarters into a glassical and genuine environment, carried out in a fine balance with modern materials, colour scheme, light, style and atmosphere.
