product information

The SHL door handle was designed by shldesign and developed for the ARoS Art Museum (by schmidt hammer lassen architects). We wanted to create a unique and functional design matching the grand and simple artistic space.
Without unnecessary decoration and details, the design submit the architecture and leaves visual space for the experience of art and architecture. The angular design was chosen to emphasize attention to the soft, curved interior - the passage through the house and the stairway elevating visitors to the various levels and experiences.
Despite  the rather hard and sharp angled design, users are met with a soft and pleasant feeling when touching the handle - perfectly roundes edges gives the final finish and balance between form and functionality.

For our Italian client Guglielmi we have designed a range of high quality and modern water taps for both kitchen and bathroom. This series was the first of its kind to work purely with the angular design concept and have since then been used in both modern and classic interior spaces - creating either the final touch in a minimal interior or the contrast in a more classic and decorated architecture.

The door handle  is ideated and designed with the intention to join strict geometric shapes with organic design. Based on a pure and simple oval shape the handle transforms from the meeting with the doorplate to the end of the handle. The handle is the worlds first serial manufactured doorhandle using Birch bark - an amazing material that due to antibacterial skills through the entire lifetime of the bark adds valuable sanitary functionality to the design.
