focus-lighting.dk
product information

The outdoor lighting fixtures “Sticks” were originally designed together with the design and implementation of a series of warehouses for ILVA furniture company. A lamp was needed, which would not take up too much space and attention in the parking- and access-areas around the buildings, but on the other hand it should prevent unwanted traffic from getting too close to the warehouses, and of course provide a sufficient and comfortable light around the buildings.
The design turned to a simple, geometric shape, only interrupted by a single or double-sided lighting slits, subtly defining whether the light pours from the fixture to only one or to both sides. The simple detailing and the pure wholesome form make the lamp suitable for an outdoor environment, as it has no loose parts or fragile covers which are easily damaged. Sticks is available as bollard and as park lamp.

completed:2005

danfoss.dk
product information

The reception counter for Danfoss meets the preference for a design that combines a freestanding outdoor sculptural element with a traditional reception design for a foyer space. In schmidt hammer lassens design these two aspects are fused in one and the same element: a sculptural reception counter. Positioned so that there is a clear view of it from every angle, the counter is also visible from the outside. The design idiom takes its cue from an item in Danfoss’s own universe: the metal chip - a “waste product” produced by metal-cutting operations. The final design is the result of repeated modifications of the original form, and provides both optimal physical settings for the reception workstations whilst retaining the free-floating “chip” form.
